Radiant Loose Diamond History
The radiant diamond shape was invented by Henry Grossbard in 1977. Until then, rectangular diamonds tended to lack brilliance, since the flat and parallel surfaces did little to reflect light. He employed several step cutting techniques, which also highlighted a loose diamond’s color. In fact, fancy colored diamonds often take the radiant shape.
